Ensure growing participation in arts and cultural experiences, including expanding audiences for arts events and bringing the arts to young people
- TOCATTA performed two free concerts in the Squaw Valley Chapel which successfully introduced them to a new audience
- Arts For the Schools launched a new web site and marketing plan which strengthened their capacity building efforts and expanded their outreach to over 2000 new potential supporters while their professional art instruction reached over 800 elementary students and performing art series over 4,000 K-12 students 800 elementary students and performing art experiences to over 4,000 K-12 students.
- Trails & Vistas continued their annual art hike which sold out with over 700 attendees – they also offered community workshops throughout the summer to create art pieces to be featured at the hikes
- Inner Rhythms’ award winning Hip-Hop troupe performed InnerACTIONS – its “message of prevention through inspiration” – to hundreds of local teens in all area high schools and then performed at the National Training Institute’s 2010 Conference at Georgetown University in Washington D.C.
Impart the unique history of our region to residents and visitors
- Truckee Donner Railroad Museum opened their new Caboose Museum in May showcasing the history of the railroad in our area and have reached over 1,500 visitors
- Tahoe Maritime Museum’s new archival scanning hardware provided access to rare and fragile archive materials, enhanced public education and appreciation of local history – summer visitors to the museum numbered over 4,200
Build a stronger community through enhancing regional cultural institutions
- Core operating support for Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival aided in bringing artistic production in-house – the festival attracts over 25,000 ticket buyers per season
- Inner Rhythms added a part time administrative staff person to manage their regional training center - 70 students currently enrolled
