Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation (TTCF) will soon open the application process for the 2015 Open Competitive Grant Cycle.  North Tahoe-Truckee nonprofit organizations are driven by passionate individuals and small teams committed to creating change in our region.  These dedicated  nonprofits serve a vast array of interests that include animal, cultural, environmental, educational, youth development, community improvement, and health and human services. When asked to choose just one area of impact close to their heart during TTCF’s summer poll, residents, second homeowners, and visitors echoed  that their passions span across all areas, as well.

For this reason, TTCF hosts the annual Open Competitive Grant Cycle for eligible nonprofit organizations serving the North Tahoe-Truckee region across all areas of impact. This year, $100,000 has been made available to fund across the following areas:

  • Arts, Culture and Public Benefit
  • Education and Youth Development
  • Environment, Conservation, and Animal Welfare
  • Health and Human Services

To streamline the application process, we are asking for less detail and no longer requiring that nonprofits resubmit previously submitted and unchanged information on their applications. TTCF hopes this frees up more time for busy nonprofits to spend focusing on their missions.

The Open Competitive Fund will accept various types of grant proposals, including:

  • Hard costs, staffing costs for specific projects, equipment
  • Core operating funds (salaries, rent, utilities)
  • Capacity building (strategic planning, board development and governance, marketing and communication, financial reporting)

TTCF will accept online applications September 1 through September 30, 2015 at 5:00pm.  To learn more about the Open Competitive Grant Cycle guidelines, visit www.ttcf.net.   If you have any questions or would like to volunteer for our grants committee, please contact TTCF at (530)587-1776 or email Phyllis McConn at phyllis@ttcf.net.
