Planned Giving

[expand title=”Legacy Giving” tag=”h3″ id=”legacy” trigclass=”arrowright”]
Planned giving through Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation creates gifts that last well beyond your lifetime. You can be assured that:

  • Your gift will be carefully invested and administered.
  • Distributions will be made according to your intent.
  • Your family members can be involved in continuing your philanthropic traditions.
  • You may be able to accomplish all of your charitable goals with a single gift.
  • Your gift will continue to make a difference locally, nationally, and even internationally.

Even if you can’t make a gift today, you may be able to provide for a generous gift in the future. Whether you make a bequest or create a comprehensive estate planning strategy, we can help you create a planned gift that fits your interests and financial means. We can also help you design a planned gift to support the causes and charities you care about most, after you’ve provided for the financial security of your loved ones.

Making a gift is as easy as designating the Foundation as the beneficiary of an IRA or leaving a simple bequest. For example: “I give [an amount of money, shares of stock, a percentage of my estate] to Tahoe Truckee Community  Foundation.”

The Legacy Society

The Legacy Society is an honor society for individuals who have made a gift to the community through their will or estate plan.  Involvement in the Legacy Society gives you the opportunity to enjoy the company of others who, like yourself, care about leaving a legacy to protect and strengthen our beautiful  region.  Participation in the Legacy Society can be an inspirational experience, and may encourage others to leave an enduring impact on the causes they care about.

If you have made a gift to the Foundation, please let us know so we can recognize your generous contributions.

Developing a philanthropic plan that takes into account your client’s financial and charitable needs is no small task. TTCF considers attorneys, accountants, financial planners, insurance agents, and other professionals who have relationships with donors to be our valued partners in charitable giving. By giving through TTCF, your clients join a community of local donors and benefit from nearly 100 years of philanthropic expertise.

TTCF offers many philanthropic avenues which help donors attend to their personal, financial, and charitable goals. When long-term involvement is important to your client, there are more options than opening a private foundation.

Donors remain involved in grantmaking (with much less hassle and greater tax benefits) when they transfer a private foundation to TTCF or open a  donor advised fund (DAF) or supporting foundation plan. Please review our resources below.
