A Creative, Collaborative Vision for Delivering Mental Health Services

In one of the world’s most beautiful places, our heavenly seclusion is also the cause of difficult challenges. Accessing mental health care is one of these challenges as we lack the services and funding available in more densely populated areas. So when CA residents passed the Mental Health Services Act, Placer County and TTCF began collaborating on how our creative and nimble local nonprofits can provide for our residents together.

On the Verge: Emerging Leader Pilot Project Wraps up Year-Long Training Program

How can our community support local nonprofit leaders? Tahoe Truckee just completed its first one-year On the Verge Leadership Incubator program to provide professional development for new and emerging leaders in the family strengthening field. Ten young executives representing eight local organizations completed the intensive to grow personally, professionally, and to fortify their collaborative networks.

Project MANA: Alleviating North Tahoe and Truckee Hunger

Project MANA has been alleviating hunger felt by our region for twenty five years. Shortly after being established, TTCF became one of Project MANA’s community partners and couldn’t be prouder to share their story. By committing to the whole person, Project MANA cultivates a web of integrated services to not only provide emergency food distribution, but to empower and educate our residents.

Community House Recognized as a National Model for Shared Spaces

The nonprofit world recognizes that to make the most impact on our communities collaboration is king. In December 2014, the Nonprofit Times researched a story on the collaborative benefits that spontaneously and intentionally occur when small nonprofit agencies share office space to save money. TTCF humbly shared the success story of King’s Beach Community House.
