With 2020 being the catastrophic year that it was, we were really unsure of how our 7th annual Give Back Tahoe (GBT) end-of-year fundraising campaign was going to perform. The GBT platform raises awareness and unrestricted funds for nonprofits serving the North Tahoe Truckee area and is available free-of-charge for our nonprofits to use all year long for fundraising and volunteer recruitment. Between December 1-15, additional money is available for these nonprofits to win through challenge grants.
When we launched the campaign on December 1, Giving Tuesday, we were astounded by the record-breaking numbers that we saw both in dollars raised and the number of unique donors that were contributing to the campaign. Both the nonprofits and community seemed more engaged than ever and the momentum continued throughout the end of the month.
Results:
- $132,525 raised on Giving Tuesday from 1,266 donors
- $428,821 raised for Give Back Tahoe, including challenge grants, from 1,461 donors
- 1,813 donations made to 46 nonprofits
Thank you to all of our donors and nonprofits for making the 2020 Give Back Tahoe campaign our most successful one yet. We feel so grateful to live in such a passionate community full of neighbors taking care of one another. If you still have something to spare in the new year, we are continuing to raise money for our Emergency Response Fund that focuses on our nonprofits that are directly helping community members through the global crisis.
A Special Thanks to Our Giving Season Sponsors: Auerbach Engineering Corp, Eagle Peak Asset Management, Elder Group Tahoe Real Estate and Emerald Bay Wealth Management.
