Truckee Fire is pleased to present the Roy Waters Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from the Truckee area who is pursuing an education in the fields of firefighting or emergency medicine. Truckee Fire hopes the students’ interests and education will lead them back to Truckee Fire Protection District to serve their community.
Roy Waters was born and raised in Truckee and was a long-time member and supporter of Truckee Fire. He was a Truckee Volunteer Firefighter for 58 years. This scholarship is made possible by donations raised throughout the community like the Truckee Fire 4th of July Pancake Breakfast.
Requirements: Available to a graduating senior from the Truckee area who is pursuing an education in the fields of firefighting or emergency medicine. Proof of enrollment in a qualified program at a Junior college, fire academy, or vocational school. Additional essay required and finalists will be interviewed.
Amount: $2000
