Boosting Hope is a non-profit on a mission to provide catalytic gap grants, one-time funding at critical points in a person’s life that will make a significant difference in their future. Starting at a four-year university is a perfect example of a critical time in a person’s life and Boosting Hope aims to support underserved individuals who cannot access other sources of support to make a college degree financially viable.
Boosting Hope is providing two scholarships in the amount of $ 2,500 to students who plan to attend a two-year college and transfer to an accredited 4-year college. Preference for awarding these scholarships will go to students who are unable to qualify for other financial aid. The award will be paid out over two years, and students must attend quarterly free professional college mentoring on a quarterly basis to receive the award.
Requirements:
- Applicant must be enrolled at North Tahoe High School or Truckee High School at the time of application
- Applicant must have a 3.0 minimum GPA during senior year of high school.
- Applicant must demonstrate financial need through FAFSA or other acceptable means
Amount: Two one-time awards of $2,500 each for one NTHS graduate and one THS graduate, PLUS free quarterly free professional college mentoring.
