Achievable Housing for All
Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation (TTCF) is committed to identifying and accelerating achievable housing solutions for all. TTCF’s goal is to improve the lives of our people and enhance the health of our community’s places by applying the methods below as a unified approach.
*Achievable Local Housing defines the range of unmet housing needs in North Tahoe—Truckee, from the unhoused to middle-income salary earners, the “missing middle.” An expanded definition of affordability improves our region’s ability to address the housing needs of various households.
The Mountain Housing Council of Tahoe Truckee (MHC) was a regional collaboration from 2017 to 2023 that brought together 29 diverse partners to accelerate solutions for achievable local housing.
Facilitated by the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation, MHC adopted a “Collective Impact” model for regional systems change.
Accomplishments include:
In 2016, we facilitated the first-ever regional housing needs assessment, which examined North Tahoe—Truckee as a single ecosystem with unique stressors and concerns.
As communities and systems are always evolving, TTCF has facilitated regional housing needs assessments on a regular basis.
