Over the last 15 years, TTCF and our donors have distributed more than $221,000 to Arts for the Schools. In addition, a gift in honor of Excellence in Education has been given in celebration of TTCF’s 15 Year Anniversary.
For 29 years, Arts For the Schools has enriched the education and broadened the cultural horizons of children in the Truckee-Tahoe Unified School District and schools in Incline Village, Nevada.

Each year, approximately 800 children receive visual arts instruction from a professional artist in their classroom and over 4,000 have the opportunity to experience world-class performing artists from a variety of countries and cultures. This is to make up for the continued loss in education funding for art programs. Through hands on art instruction Arts For the Schools seek to increase cultural and artistic awareness and emphasize the correlation between the creative process of reading, writing and art-making.
Arts For the Schools is working to enrich the lives of our children and community through the arts by presenting performing artists from different cultures. This may be the only first-hand exposure that many of the children in this rural area will have to experiences and peoples that would otherwise be beyond their reach.
