A gift in honor of the volunteers who help drive their mission has been given to their efforts.
Volunteering for the community starts with a collaboration between passion and resources. Hands on Tahoe (HoT) is a non-profit organization, dedicated to linking volunteers with service opportunities. HoT has served the greater Truckee Tahoe area for over ten years, matching volunteer’s interests and specific skill sets with various volunteer openings. They continuously strive to make volunteer opportunities prevalent in the greater Tahoe community.
Over 150 non-profits have utilized HoT’s online service since the online expansion was created eight years ago. By digitally linking locals with service opportunities, Hands on Tahoe has helped create a dynamic resource for those looking to give back.
Arlene Becker, Volunteer Executive Officer for Hands on Tahoe, explained that “there is a great need in the community for qualified volunteers to be matched with organizations.”
Hands on Tahoe operates is run entirely by a volunteer board who believe in the value of community involvement. Their future goals include expanding outreach and delving into different demographics with their technology.
