Community House is an initiative of the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation, in partnership with North Tahoe Family Resource Center, Project MANA, and Tahoe SAFE Alliance. In addition, a gift in honor of the volunteers, donors and collaborative nonprofit team that is making Community House a reality!
The Community House has been in the hearts of those within the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation for over four years.
The goal of Community House is to construct a building that serves as a long-term community resource. By providing a home to critical safety net organizations, Community House will insure that people on the North Shore have easy access to comprehensive family support services. In addition, Community House will be a site for classes, meetings and groups of all kinds, including counseling services. Critical partners in this project include: Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation, North Tahoe Family Resource Center, Project MANA, and Tahoe SAFE Alliance.
By maximizing resources and addressing the fundamental needs of the most impoverished community on Lake Tahoe, the Community House will be a critical resource for the individuals and families of Kings Beach, California.
“The Community House project has been a passion of ours for a long time and it is exciting to see this collaborative effort come together. Construction is progressing well and soon this wonderful resource will be available for the North Tahoe community.” –Phebe Bell
