Scholarships

Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation offers a variety of endowed scholarships for students graduating from Truckee and North Tahoe High Schools.  When donors set up a scholarship fund, they identify the criteria for selecting and awarding the scholarship.  Apply for Need-Based Scholarships by clicking on this link: Scholarship apps 2011.

Apply for Non-Need based scholarships through the Tahoe Truckee Community Scholarship Committee process.  This application can be obtained from your school counselor.

Honorary Scholarships

The Catherine Hyde Memorial Scholarship is a $500 available to a North Tahoe High School student who is pursuing a liberal arts degree at a four year college/university.

The Norman Dewhurst Scholarship is awarded annually to the graduating senior within the entire TTUSD with the highest score on the math section of the SAT.  This year’s scholarship will be $1,000.

The Northstar-at-Tahoe Environmental Leadership Scholarship is awarded to a Truckee High School graduating senior who will be attending a four year college/university and has demonstrated environmental leadership in high school. This year’s scholarship will be $800.

Need-Based Scholarships

The Elenita Sullivan Memorial Scholarship is available to a North Tahoe High School student attending a four year school in a health related field.  This $8,000 scholarship ($2,000/year) is designated for a student with demonstrated financial need to attend college.

The Pat Sutton Memorial Scholarship is available to Truckee High School graduating senior.  This $3,000 scholarship is designated for a student attending a four year college or university who has a commitment to community service and has demonstrated financial need.

The Cameron and Jane Baird Latino/a Scholarships are available to students graduating from either Truckee, North Tahoe, or Sierra High Schools.  This year two scholarships are offered:  $10,000 scholarship for a student attending a four year college ($2,500/year) and a $5,000 scholarship for a student attending community college.   Both of these scholarships are need-based and immigrant and undocumented students are welcome to apply.

The Robert “Fro” Frohlich Memorial Scholarship is available to a student graduating from North Tahoe High School.  This year the grant will be $500 and is designated for a student who has demonstrated financial need in “pursuing your dream”.
