The Ian Casey foundation is a 100% volunteer-run charity organization started in memory of our good friend, and Truckee High graduate, Ian Casey. Our purpose is to support local youth organizations in the Truckee Tahoe community and to keep the name and spirit of our dear friend alive. Ian had so much joy and passion for life and love for those around him. Ian played on the Truckee High football and golf teams, graduated Cal-Poly with a degree in landscape architecture, loved to travel, told great jokes, and genuinely enjoyed helping his family and friends. As Ian always carried a positive attitude, our goal is to provide as much positive impact as we can to our community; from funding existing need-based programs and outdoor education to scholarship funds and local athletics.
Amount: One multi-year $4,000 scholarship distributed in $1,000 increments over 4 years
Requirements: The Ian Casey Scholarship is a need-based scholarship with the following criteria: Truckee High graduate; maintains at least a 3.5 GPA; was a student-athlete (played at least one sport in high school); shows leadership or involvement in the community or school; and is pursuing further education or employment in landscape architecture, natural sciences, architecture, or art.
